Some Very Important Things to Understand Regarding CBD Dosage

We’ve covered several aspects of CBD here on CBDmyth. Among the things left to discuss are CBD Dosage. How much CBD is too much? How much is safe to consume? In this article, we’ll answer these questions.

CBD dosage and solution

CBD dosage and the solution type are interdependent. For consumer convenience, CBD is available in several forms. One solution type is different from another. CBD tincture and edible oil are completely different. If you are taking tincture, a little dosage is enough. It’s the reason consumers use dropper for tincture.

CBD edible oil comes with physician recommended dosage. We’ll discuss that in a moment. First, let us understand how CBD topicals and salves work. The context of dosage is irrelevant when you are using these as topical ointments are typically rubbed over the skin. Even if use extra amount, there won’t be any harm.

Concentration in solution

CBD concentration varies depending on the solution type. Every CBD solution comes with a specific amount of concentration. There are concentrations that have below 10 MG CBD in them. Alongside these solutions, exist other solutions containing over 100 MG CBD.

You might feel tempted to know how the dosage is decided. It’s decided on the basis of what kind of illness the CBD drug is supposed to treat.

Illness and CBD dosage

As we’ve discussed in the articles that we posted earlier on this site, CBD treats a rainbow collection of illnesses. From epilepsy to cancer, from chronic pain to digestive problems, from fibromyalgia to memory-loss, CBD treats almost all diseases.

The dosage varies. Below you’ll find some of the illnesses and the corresponding dosage:

  • Cancer: The claim that CBD can beat cancer got validation after Tommy Chong recovered from it. An average person needs 60ml of daily dosage for 3 months. That said, the dosage depends on factors like age, stage of cancer and the consumer’s immune system.
  • Chronic pain: Most people who consume CBD do that to alleviate pain. The recommended dosage is 5 ml to 25 ml a day for a little more than 3 weeks. The dosage may vary depending on the severity of the pain.
  • Nerve problems: Dosage depends on specific problems, not on broad-range problems. Severe form of schizophrenia requires 50-1200 mg CBD everyday. MS patients, on the other hand, requires a mix of THC and CBD for 15 long weeks, up to 120 mg a day.
  • Sleep problems: People suffering from insomnia are recommended to take 50-150 mg of CBD by mouth.

It’s always wise to consult an expert than to decide how much you’ll take all by yourself.

Global CBD standard

Now let’s come to the core issue. What is the global CBD serving standard? Or does any such standard exist in the first place?

Currently, there’s no such standard as pharma companies haven’t fully embraced CBD. However, there’s a strong need of a uniform standard?

Why so?

Because CBD brands often confuse people by suggesting different dosage for the same illness. If there’s an internationally approved standard, consumers won’t be confused. CBDoilReviw.org recommends a dosage of 25 mg a day for a month or until the symptoms are relieved. However, this recommendation is unanimously endorsed.

Any side-effect?

Things may not always go as they are planned. CBD consumption is safe. However, the possibility of side-effects cannot be completely ruled out, more so because we don’t fully know how CBD works. Common side-effects of CBD include drowsiness, lightheadedness, etc. Fortunately, these side-effects are easy to deal with.

Consumption method and dosage

Does the method of consumption make any difference in how much CBD would be needed? Yes, it does. We’ve discussed the most popular consumption techniques earlier. When you are smoking or vaping, you are puffing in a lot of smoke and hold it down there. That means, a decent amount of CBD entering into your body. However, if you use a mouth spray or use a dropper and hold CBD under your tongue, the dosage amount wouldn’t be high.

When CBD is used in the form of tincture, the dosage required is so low that it is called micro dosage. When someone uses a vape pen to consume CBD, the consumption limit normally doesn’t cross 40 mg.

FDA on dosage

What’s interesting to note here is FDA doesn’t even consider CBD as a legit drug, but as a food supplement. That’s kind of odd considering the medical community appreciating CBD. FDA doesn’t recommend any dosage. They instruct consumers to check the serving on the product’s label.

Customers should follow a safe dosage, which is 5-30 mg a day and see whether their problem persists. If it does, consult with experts.

In summary

It’s old news that CBD cures diseases. Even the most difficult to treat to health conditions can be treated by CBD. All that patients need to do is find the right dosage, based on their health, severity of the disease and the method of consumption.
