You must be having greed, I mean greed for anything more or less. Having greed is very common in almost everyone barring a few who are very enlightened. As a human quality, how is greed. Is it really good or bad. We will discuss about it a little later.

Let us understand greed first. Greed is an inordinate or insatiable longing for unneeded excess, specially for excess wealth, status, power, or food. Greed is an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs. Is greed good. Is greed a human instinct. Why are some people inclined to hoard. For some individuals, greed and selfishness are much more habitual. Greed is the fear of not having enough, no matter how much one has. In extreme cases, someone in greed can be ruthless to fulfill one's desire.

Greed does not arise universally. It is seen in definable areas, such as, money, food, attention, love, experience etc. A person develops the quality of being greedy since his childhood. Greed is very problematic. If you don't have any greed, the light of your life becomes dim,  his survival may be difficult.

Now, the question remains, how much a person should be greedy. The answer is undefinable. The best way to know about the need of greed in a person's life is to assess his necessity for living a moderate and happy life. Actually, peace and happiness remains here, if you watch carefully. If you have a craze for more and more and more, then you become greedy. Actually, you should balance in between needs and possibilities in a moderate way. Hanging around for too much
will ruin your happiness and peace of mind. At the end I should say about a proven truth, that being simple is best and simple is everlasting.
