Xiaomi Mi Celebrates World Music Day with the Launch of Mi Pocket Speaker 2 in India
To celebrate the occasion of World Music Day, Xiaomi on Thursday announced the launch of its latest audio product Mi Pocket Speaker 2 in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 1,499, the gadget will come in black and white color option along with a 7-hour battery life with continuous music playback.
Launched on the occasion of World Music Day, the device will be available exclusively via Mi.com starting 12 pm IST from 21 June 2018. Powered by a 1200mAh non-removable battery with a 3.7V capacity, the Mi Pocket Speaker 2 comes with some exclusive features including a minimalist design with Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity and a 5W speaker.
Accompanying the Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2, the gadget’s body is made from polycarbonate and ABS material, while the dimension of 60x60x93.3mm aluminum alloy is used for the upper surface. With Bluetooth 4.1 capabilities, the device has an effective coverage of up to 10 meters and can be worked in between a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius with a USB power input of 5V/1A (5W).
The Mi Pocket Speaker 2 has a built-in microphone which allows users to make calls and features an LED status indicator on the front. Interestingly it is the first Xiaomi’s Bluetooth speaker available in India as the predecessor of Mi Pocket Speaker Series hasn’t yet been announced in the Indian market. In addition to the speaker, the Chinese phone maker Xiaomi is venturing into the smartphone accessory market from earphones, headphones to even travel pillows and backpacks. Some of the comfort products in India are Mi Headphones Comfort, Mi Earphones Black, Mi Earphones Silver, Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD, and Mi Earphones Basic.
The Chinese phone maker inaugurated its 1000th service center in Hyderabad, Telangana earlier this week. Today, Xiaomi India has a presence in over 600 cities with over 500 service centers in the country.
