THE MONOTONOUS "HIM"

He sat on a bench at a park and felt the presence of countless people around. People walked by, shoulders brushed his, he moved his head side to side to figure out if there was somebody, but the movement was so goddamn fast that he could not make out who it was and where they came from. People moved in silhouettes and in all gradation of monotone colors, people moved in blurred shadows, they intrigued him, their movement intrigued him and then he fluttered, he tried really hard to at least catch a person, and one by one each of his prospective prey got out of his hands.

He then Caught Hold of one of the figures. It was lighter than cotton or foam but it was for sure, heavier than the wind and before he could decipher who that person was, he heard a voice, voice that wanted to say something to him, he moved his head in the direction of voice that had startled him, but then he was even more worried that his catch would leave him, so immediately turned back, after all, after all that being intrigued, he had caught hold of his only prey and thankfully the prey was happily in.

A little relieved this time, he tried again to move in the direction of the voice when he suddenly felt someone tapping his shoulders, he was yet again startled and the tapping came from the figure that he had just caught. The figure advanced towards him as if it wanted to say something to him. Just as he blinked, he found that it was not just the sitting figure that advanced towards him but everyone present at the park that advanced towards him, he was obviously elated, after all, his intrigue was getting answered; he was going to get the attention that he required.  He tried his best to understand what the figures were trying to convey or telling him, a few figures even tried to touch him but they could not. It felt as if he was lighter than the wind, it was as if he was a ghost who was impossible to touch. For the figures, he came across as a blurry shadowy silhouette….
