“Be happy” – a progress

What makes you happy? Something permanently? Maybe a trip, an evening with friends or just having a little late night conversation with the one you love?

Being happy is not something to achieve in minutes. It will always be an ongoing decision you have to make. Write down all the little things that make you happy because this is something about you and nobody else. You are the only person who knows what you need when you are sad or just out of focus.

Take your time, sit down and just think about what would make you Smile or better, about something that already happened in the past that made you laugh out loud or just brought a smile to your face. Most people do not even realize when the are smiling or happy. They only think about being satisfied with themselves or happy when they are in a bad mood because something did not work out the way they wanted it to. This is probably the worst thing to do. Thinking about something that would make you happy is not going to help you in a wicked situation. The essential part about being happy is to know the  way to make you feel better in exact the bad situations. Feeling good will never be something you can buy in the next mall or something to hold in your hands. Of course you can go shopping and get yourself a new pair of shoes or something else you are currently craving and be happy about your newest conquest, but this kind of “happiness” will be nothing more than temporary. If you know that listening to one of your favorite songs, reading a good book, going on a hike or hanging out with your friends will make you feel blessed, why are you not doing exactly one or maybe all of these options?

Something else that can make you feel happy and pleased with yourself is to create a routine. Having something steady in your life is a good thing to hang on. My number one priority is to have a daily routine. My day starts with good morning stretch, a cup of coffee or tea and a good breakfast. Whatever I will have to do in the course of the day will be easier for me Knowing my very own way to get through the hours of despair, disaffection and lost thoughts about better things.

“Be yourself”, “Do what you like”, “Feel yourself”. Everyone knows those lines people like to say when you ask for their help and they do not know a way to reassure you. They sound easy and just to prove a point, in fact they are actually pretty much gentle to be done. There is no one out there who knows you as much as you know yourself. If you need any help, the first person you should always ask for an advice is you and no one else. After knowing what you would do, you can go and ask the others like your mum, your dad or your friends.

Being happy means knowing yourself, your needs, your wishes and your opinion on certain things and choices. If you do not know them right know, you will in the future. Happiness is a Progress, not a condition.
