Emflux One Superbike

Bangalore based Indian startup; Emflux Motors has unveiled their indigenously developed Emflux One superbike. This is a performance Bike which can pick up a speed of 100 kmph in just three seconds and has a top speed of 200 kmph. The superbike derives its power from a lithium-ion Samsung air-cooled battery pack of 9.7 KWh capacity. The drive motor is of 60 KW rating which churns out 71 bhp power and 75 Nm torque. The efficient battery can be charged up to its 80% capacity in just 36 minutes. It can drive you up to 200 km in the city traffic at a single full charge. On highways, it can go up to 150 km at a speed of 80 kmph. The bike also comes with smart features like 7-inch TFT screen which can display real time diagnostics with GPS. The Emflux superbike is priced at Rs. 6 lakh. The booking is planned to start in July 2018 and deliveries will commence in April 2019. The company’s current plan is to produce just 199 bikes for domestic market whereas 300 units will be produced for the export market.

UM Renegade Thor

Another interesting electric bike launched by United Motors at the 2018 Auto Expo is UM Renegade Thor. United Motors is a newest entry in the ever growing two wheeler market. The UM Renegade Thor is a cruiser electric bike powered by a 30 KW electric motor. The peak torque output is 70 Nm. The bike can go up to 270 km on a single charge. The battery can be charged to 80% of its capacity within 40 minutes through a fast charger.  The bike comes with 5-speed gearbox, the world’s first bike to have this feature and has a reverse gear too. The bike also comes with ABS feature. The booking of the UM Renegade Thor is to start in April 2018 and the delivery will commence later by this year end. The bike is priced at Rs. 9.9 lakh in India and will come as completely built unit (CBU). Later, there are plans to assemble the bike in India when the price is expected to come down.  The company claims that the Thor electric bike is the only bike that can offer the comparable performance similar to a 600cc bike.

Vespa Elettrica

Vespa Elettrica is another electric scooter showcased by Piaggo at the 2018 Auto Expo. Based on iconic Vespa styling, it comes with a unique chrome grey shade. The power to the scooter is delivered by a lithium-ion battery. The scooter comes in two variants; the Vespa Elettrica Standard and Vespa Elettrica X. Both the variants come with an electric motor which delivers 2 KW continuous power and 4 kW peak power. This has a range of 100 km whereas the Vespa Elettrica  X has a higher range of 200 km on a single charge. The Vespa Elettrica X is fitted additionally with a 4 stroke petrol engine which acts as a generator to charge the battery pack. The company claims that the battery can achieve the full charge within four hours charging time. Other features include color TFT display with smart phone connectivity. Though the Vespa Elettrica has been unveiled at the Auto Expo, it is not certain when it will be launched in Indian market. However, it has been planned to offer the electric scooter in European market later this year.

Honda PCX Electric

Honda has unveiled the Honda PCX Electric scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo. This scooter is a replica of the Honda PCX conventional scooter which was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo by the company. The electric scooter is driven by a 0.98 KW electric motor developed in-house. The Honda PCX Electric comes with detachable battery pack to facilitate the rider to increase the range by connecting the charged battery pack. A provision has been made under the seat to carry two extra battery packs for such change during the course of journey. Other features of the scooter include digital LCD instrument console and all-LED headlight. Again, the question remains when it will be launched in India though it is expected to be launched in other select Asian market in near future.

TVS Creon

The TVS Motor Company has come up with the TVS Creon electric scooter at the Auto Expo. It has a sporty look based on the sleek styling of TVS brand. The scooter is powered by a 12 KW electric motor which can drive the scooter to a speed of 60kmph in just 5.1 seconds. It has a range of 80 km run in a single  full charge.  The battery can be charged to 80% of its capacity in just one hour with a fast charging option. Other features include LED headlamps, LED indicators on apron, GPS, smart phone charger, geo-fencing and anti theft features. Under the seat enough storage space has been provided to accommodate a full face helmet. The TVS electric scooter has disc brakes at front and rear and single channel ABS. The brakes have regenerative features adding to the range in city driving.

Twenty Two Motors Flow

The Haryana based Twenty Two Motors has launched its first electric scooter in India code named as ‘Flow”. The scooter is powered by a 2.1 KW electric motor delivering 90 Nm, torque. The top speed of the scooter as claimed is 60 kmph. The driving power comes from the efficient lithium-ion battery which can be fully charged in five hours. A single full charge delivers a range of 80 km. There is a provision of space to carry additional batteries which can double the range to 160 km. The Flow scooter comes with reverse gear, cruise control, a hill assist system, a drag function to help push scooter during a puncture and regenerative braking system. Other features include app-based geo-fencing security that alerts the vehicle owner if it travels beyond a defined geographical boundary and an option is offered to immobilize it. The Twenty Two Motors Flow scooter is priced at Rs. 74,740.
