A lovely and silky white Shirt on a black fitted pant trouser and a sparkling pair of black shoe got me looking extremely radiant.

I starred at the mirror to admire my awesome look.

oops!!!!! there was something missing.

One of the buttons located at the front of my shirt was nowhere to be found, thus, exposing part of my skin.

I was already late and there was no spare button to replace the missing one, except I purchase a new button.

But where do I get a button at that very early hour of the day because it was just 5.30am.

On one hand, I have got no spare button, and on the other hand, asides not wanting to change my look into something different, I really did not have any neatly ironed shirt. And above all, time was already frowning at me.

“What do I do?”, I asked myself while looking at that spot of my shirt widely opened without a button.

“If I cannot proffer a solution, then I have no choice but to manage one of my other shirts, but I don’t want to change this look”, I thought out loud.

Suddenly, An idea brushed through my head while looking at other buttons on my shirt through the mirror.

I walked fast to my wardrobe, pulled out my jewelry box, opened it, and brought out all my brooches.
I was so happy that I finally got a solution.

Unfortunately for me, the brooches were way too big, I tried one on the shirt, but it looked so awkward.
At that time, I really wished I had a smaller brooch.

I looked at the brooch and observed its features, one of its features gave me an idea.

The pin on the brooch which can pierce into any fabric and the hook, to hold the pin firm to the fabric to prevent it from falling off.

I smiled at myself.

No, I wasn’t trying to take the pin off the brooch because I was not ready to destroy any of my brooches for just a day look.

I thought of something that can perform the job of a button and a pin.

I opened my jewelry box, and behold, I laid my hands on one of my studs Earring.

I removed the hook of the earring, pierced the earring into the space that had no button on my shirt, and inserted the hook at the other end Of the shirt to hold the earring firm.

It looked like a button.

Afterward, I closed that space on my shirt by fastening the inserted button (earring) on the right side of my shirt to the buttonhole on the left area of my shirt.

It looked so beautiful.

I eventually made the earring perform two functions, the function of a button and that of a brooch.

People adored it and asked where I got a brooch as tiny as that, but they were astonished when I told them it wasn’t a brooch but an earring.

Fact: Improvising is great especially in situations that might seem like there is no way out.

We have all got that great potential hidden within us but are yet to discover it because of the situations that surround us.

You’ll be surprised to find out how much abilities you have got bottled up within you when some situations arise that do not require to be solved using the usual approach but an unusual one.

That person or thing you think is not capable of solving any problem today might eventually be at your service in worst times tomorrow.

I never had it in mind that I’d replace a button with an earring if such situation did not surface,

Likewise, I never knew I could think to that extent but my situation at that time gave me the ability to think that far.

That act of INGENUITY came to play at that point in time.

We have got inbuilt abilities that vary in individuals. Don’t ever limit yourself.

Don’t ever think you are not capable. Try doing and see whether you are or you are not capable.

Your ability is embedded in that inability.

Everyone has that mind of a “GENIUS”, which differs in individuals, but time will tell when to exhibit it.

There is more to everyone, time will definitely tell.

We all have that INGENIOUS mind, discover it.
