Free Camping Central Coast is something thats becoming harder and harder to find. But there are still a couple of free camping spots available around the Central Coast area. After exploring multiple national park websites to uncover the Free Camping spots for you to visit on your next adventure.

Gentlemans Halt Campground

First cab off the ranks is Gentlemans Halt Campground thats found within the Marramarra National Park. Situated on the banks of the Hawkesbury River there is a fair chance you will have the views all to yourself.

Getting to the campground requires a 10km hike via the canoelands ridge walking track. The long walk is well worth the effort with the area providing excellent fishing, bird watching and stunning scenery. This is a rather remote camping spot so ensure you pack plenty of food and water for the duration of your stay.

Marra Marra Creek Campground

The next Free Camping Central Coast hidden gem is the Marra Marra Creek Campground. Located near Hornsby the area offers some excellent canoeing, walking, fishing and birdwatching opportunities. This is another remote campsite so ensure you pack sufficient supplies. If you folow the Marramarra Ridge Trail for 3.5km it will take you directly to the campsite. Bookings not available and is a case of first in best dressed.

Ten Mile Hollow Campground

Ten Mile Hollow Campground is found along the multi-day old Great North Road Hike. It takes quite a bit of effort to get to this location and may not be ideal to target as an overnight stay. The campground has a total of 6 campsites and offers a great place to rest after a tiresome hike or ride.

The area has heritage significance so please ensure you respect the area and observe nearby signs. Make sure you tell friends of your plans, take a topo map and compass along with plenty of water & food. The remote nature of this campsite needs to be taken into account before planning to visit.
