Excuse me, Mark Bettis, I’d like to Dance with Nature as Well

When you visit Mark Bettis Gallery all you see is a multitude of Nature painting and city life for the most part. Only when you read his self-written biography can you see that this man has been dancing with nature his entire life. And through his constant travel he’s seen nature from many sides. With her back turned, her face to the side, as well as she sleeps. The thought still comes to mind: could you dance with her as well as he did?
In my experience with Mark Bettis gallery, I never felt so shortsighted. I have flown from planes and seen people move like ants. I have gazed openly at the vast land  in the midwest. However, I never saw the world like he did. This is my experience.
City of Lights
Could there be a lost city on the Sun? It’s as if this city was built with mirrors and lights placed so concised that positivity invoked the city. Some people wake up in Chicago to the sight of big buildings  towering over them. If they knew of the existence of this place they would steal the Chicago motto, “work hard and play harder” just to get here as quickly as possibly. A city likes this only radiates positivity. Makes sense why the sun is so giving.
The Frog and the Hares
Nature at peace. If you put yourself in this picture you will become the frog. You see, the frog was underwater like you and I. Submerged in our own worlds. For the frog, only until he was alerted of the well-kept peace that stood on top of this scenery. The rabbit is one of the most signifying representation of pureness. It only makes sense the frog came and makes it’s presence known. Some may think the frog is frowning. I have to say you are wrong. The frog lives underwater, if you view him from submersion in the water, it is likely you see him smiling. He is just like nature, at peace.
Perpetual Motion
Anyone who has ever experienced the life of Chicago can tell you how well this title goes with this picture. The picture, let alone the title, reminds me of the first day I experienced Chicago. The energy in the people steps. Everyone seemed like on a mission. To what? To where? Each of their own. Buildings constantly being built. Take strong notice of the lines within the artwork. You shouldn’t be waiting. You should be moving and building more.
Savannah Night
Your mind may stir up the thought if this captured imagination is in a town or a city. Do not let that distract you from the fact, that this street is asleep. But within those street lights awake with one another with companion. Captured inside these residents are people. Not just any people but of lineage or of compassion with who they resides with. It all connects towards a home. This quiet night, is experience in your comfort.
Final Thoughts
If you never experience nature at it’s core or big city, you can learn quickly through Mark Bettis’ gallery. I wonder how long this song has been going on. With each footsteps comes another note. With each stroke comes another path. Forget how long will it be until the song ends, he will continue to dance. Rather question how long will it be until nature’s path end? You must go on a nature walk yourself.           Thank you, Mark Bettis
