OnePlus 5 Launched in India

The smartphone, with two variants, will be available on e-commerce website Amazon, exclusive sales partner in India, for Rs. 32,999 and Rs.37,999
The OnePlus 5 was launched in India at a live-streamed event at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai on Thursday.

Following high-profile endorsement by personalities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Vir Das, Sushant Singh Rajput, Sania Mirza, the event was anchored by Rajiv Makhni and culminated in a contest to guess the price of the phone in India.

The Slate Grey variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs. 32,999 and the Midnight Black variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will be priced at and Rs.37,999.

The phone will be available starting 4.30 p.m., Thursday, on Amazon and oneplusstore.in. Amazon, which has been OnePlus’s partner since the phone’s India launch in December 2014, is exclusive online partner for flagship OnePlus 5.

SBI credit and debit card holders will get flat Rs. 1.500 cashback on the phone price, on top of the up to Rs. 1,000 exchange offer the company is running (valid till June 28 across all authorised retail channels). Kindle users who purchase the handset between June 22 and July 31 will get promotional e-book credit worth Rs. 500 when logging into the app from the smartphone. Sign in on the Amazon Prime Video app on the phone to get Rs. 250 cashback in Amazon Pay balance. All OnePlus 5 users will be eligible for 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify on downloading the Kotak 811 savings account and activating it with an initial deposit of Rs. 1,000.

This Smartphone is powered by Octacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
The device will house 16MP + 20MP rear dual-camera combination and 16MP front shooter. The company claimed that OnePlus 5 has the highest smartphone camera resolution yet.

The 5.5-inch full-HD display smartphone comes with a “Dash Charge” technology that gives a day’s power in half-hour charging.
The company also launched a range of new backpacks.

OnePlus 5 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Oxygen OS. OnePlus 5 measures 154.2 x 74.1 x 7.25mm, and weighs 153 grams. Sensors on phone include: Fingerprint, Hall, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity, Ambient Light Sensor, Electronic Compass.
