the problem with society

At school were told how to pass our exams. What do do if someone is being bullied. How to make millions of pounds.

but where does it tells us to love ourselves.
we sign up to hundreds of social media accounts, framing our life. Putting our make up on, hitting the gym. Just to impress our friends our family our colegues.
Hours worth of scrolling though our feeds comparing ourselves to every single person we see.
here's just a small amount of what we tell ourselves:

"I'm not tall enough"
"my nose Is too big"
"I'm fat"
"why can't I be as skinny as them"

We shed hate on people who are below us just to make ourselves feel better. We go beyond the lines of what is acceptable to post on social media. We hurt others though just a screen.

and where does that leave us? We are left with the guilt when another death comes up on our newsfeed of another person dead.  Young people who have been peer pressure into consuming drugs.  People who have been abused online and can no longer deal with the suffering silence.

bloggers preaching about their bodies. Yes it's motivating and inspiring but we are not them. We can't wake up tomorrow loving ourselves. Companies posting transformation posts about losing weight. TV adverts promoting diet pills to slimming worlds.

and where does that leave us?
It leaves our lives being controlled by the media.

I don't agree with just posting the 'party and  enternal happiness' sife of life. I don't stand with force inflicting my views onto other people. I don't stand with modelling or proving something to the world.

I stand for embracing human life.
For us to build eachother up not down.
For mental health just be just as valid as physical health.

we need to be tough to be able to survive in the world first before being taught the equation for photosynthesis.

you don't have to be a celebrity to get hurt online. Think before you type.

Claim yourself and not let the media claim you.
