Giving your hair that boost, with DESIGN.ME

DESIGN.ME hair care was created for that instant oompf we desire our barnets to own.  Masterminded by 4 friends and brought to reality in fresh, beautifully packaged bottles, DESIGN.ME also boast being cruelty-free and are free from harmful sulfates, gluten, and parabens.  So is it just me, or are we cooking with gas Design.Me?

Let’s spill the T…

Design wise (ho hum) Design.me have done pretty nicely.  The collection hosts a bunch of gorgeously pastel-hued bottles, they’re chunky, feel good to hold and the fact that the colour continues throughout all components gives that whole satisfying Instagram ready look.

Powerdry.me is a ‘microemulsion’ (this just makes me think of paint) that decreases blowdrying time up to 50%.  Having properties that sound akin to swans (I don’t want no pigeons) feathers shaking off water, the science guffins behind it sound rather impressive.  However, with my very short hair, I was unable to see a difference in how quickly my hair dried.  That being said, with my bleach damaged ends still clinging on, it detangled them like a dream and my hair was left smooth and glossy once done.

Fab.me had me literally clinging to the bottle for dear hope.  It promises so so much, from heat and environmental damage protection, breakage prevention, smoothing those split ends… the list went on and on.  As with the Powerdry.me I sprayed liberally on my hair and set to blow drying it.  My hair felt pretty nice and was easy to style, and after suffering hefty amounts of damage from excessive bleaching in the past, this was definitely a product I needed.  My only niggle was it smelt just…hor.  It reminded me of rather old perfumes and it was quite overbearing.

So I’ll lowe it, for now, design.me...

And then we come to Puff.me – the first ever volumizing powder in a pump! Honestly, this pump biznizz is ingenious.  Volumizing powders usually come in those awkward pepper shaker pots or those annoying pipette bottles that spurt the powder in one spot and you can’t do a single thing with it – what gives?  This, however, changes that by misting the powder over your hair perfectly, giving you a decent coverage for full on all over volume building, and also because of this, it doesn’t make your hair go all grey and flaky looking.  It also works! It’s perfect for adding texture to my somewhat choppy do’ and keeps it volumised for a vast majority of the day.  Win-win!

They’re now my fabulous, candy coloured friends.  Hi, my pretties…
