I never dreamed about Social work. When I was a child I always complained about my father's philanthropic activities. But harsh realities of life taught me Is necessary to do something .
after my degree I got a chance to work as a language trainer there i met highly skilled and confident people most of them are came from MSW beings. I don't MSW really got my attention and I decided to pursue the course to help people .
1. First principle of social work is never give charity . If you give charity people start to depend on you . Seriously ! I am pursuing my dream course under Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala . Next month I am going to write my last semester exam only my first semester result is published few days before . Still y super seniors are waiting for the result .
I thought social work is a discipline which fight for human dignity. Truth is hard to accept. Even though I have to pay college tuition fee ( highest amount in Kerala; may in India) still I have to wait for my result . After the completion of course if I fail in one subject my life is doomed . Even if i pass I have to wait more than 4 years !
Actually I am performing a intellectual charity . Feed so called spineless social work intellectuals and teachers. They are happily living with their salaries and forgetting their duty. Even if they are true Indian citizens they cannot do it.
2. When I went to NGO
. My duty was simple i have to prepare documents and reports which is favorable for organization. The NGO director strongly recommended that make good report no need to visit the field . Other staff will do that . Really ? And I have to work in every projects . My salary is lesser than a normal employee! I cannot work for the development of the beneficiary group only complete the project that's all. only prepare action plan and receive the fund create some cooked up accounts to steal the money . Unfortunately few years before a failure project brought a heavy debt on the organization in order to pay back the debt organization using the project which I am entrusted . I asked him with salary i cannot undertake the responsibility so please provide traveling allowance. Answer is funny if you do not like job just leave i will get another MSW professional !
Under appreciated , salaried work is not a problem. I am just following the foot steps of teachers who does not care about their students future. Social work is not a decent profession in India .
So I am planning to leave this profession once and for all .
