Heroes Evolved is the latest MOBA Game and it's been released globally
MOBA games are very popular, even more so now they are available on mobile devices. Heroes Evolved is the latest mobile MOBA to hit the market, and boy has it hit the market! This new mobile 5vs5 arena game is growing a huge audience, and not just in a few countries. The developers 'Crytek and R2games' must be really smart. They not only created the perfect mobile MOBA, they also made it totally international, with multiple languages and with multiple server regions and sub areas. What does this mean? Well, basically you can play in the different areas of the world, like EU, Americas and Asia. Within those areas there are servers for specific parts of those areas. This means you can either play with people around the world, or choose to play more local.
So, is it really as good as it sounds to be? Let's find out.

Heroes Evolved provides full MOBA game-play while being mobile
First up let's talking about Heroes Evolved in general. It is most definitely a highly polished mobile MOBA. Not only is it mobile and available on iOS and Android, it is also available on desktop PC computers. So, how about the most common issues that are related to mobile MOBAS? Well, I have experienced no lag or high pings so far, and my FPS (frames per second) is always around 30ish, which is pretty smooth, I must say. How about communication issues? The developers 'Crytek' have this pretty much pegged. Players have the ability to communicate with voice comms, or by typing, they can also ping objectives around the map. The most important communication feature for me is the preset messages that show at the top middle of all team members screens. Messages like: 'Group up and push the mid lane' Or Follow me and take out this tower. They are very handy and people notice them more than the chat area, which to be honest is very small.
Now the general MOBA related stuff is out the way, lets get into some more specific things, first up and probably one of the most important factors, the heroes.
The Heroes Evolved MOBA gamehas a lot of heroes to choose from
The characters/heroes within this game are very finely polished. Even though the game is still in a soft launch, the game has a wide variety of heroes available. Some of them will seem familiar to heroes from League of Legends. For example, Nosferatu is basically Vladimir from LOL. The difference in his abilities are very cool though. In Heroes Evolved his second skill lays down a river of blood, increasing your speed and regeneration. His ultimate is a huge AOE that does huge damage and a self heal. (So far I like him a lot) Which brings me on to the next part of this section, the free heroes. Basically, the game seems pretty generous with the heroes given, I received 3 heroes for free, so far. And, if I checked my rewards right, I have 2 more free heroes to come, which is really really fantastic. Not only that, you gain quite a lot of gold and crystals early on, and with the 6 day price reduction for newbies, you can buy at least 2 or 3 heroes, if you want too. I personally bought one hero from the selection of reduced heroes. I plan to save my gold and crystals as I believe the rune/gem system that is in this game, requires them to be bought with gold or crystals. Obviously you want to aim at getting rank 3 gems/runes, and should also try specialize in a specific hero type, so those gems/runes can be used throughout. I personally will go for the SUP/AP type.
Heroes Evolved has some really great and also some familiar MOBA heroes
So how about the game-play in Heroes Evolved? Well it's extremely smooth and without bugs, lag or typical MOBA issues. More importantly, the games seem very fair. Unless I just got lucky with my random ranked games so far. Both teams seem pretty equal, and the game will normally go to the team who group and push a lane. After all, this game requires the towers to be taken, or timer to hit a certain amount, before the core can be attacked. Saying that, I did join a few games that were frustrating, mostly due to people just going off by themselves trying to kill players. Obviously this only works if you have been fed and you are carrying. However, a lot of people do this without even a single kill under their belt, sad. Anyway, the game on the whole is very very good, even better than Garena Moba, which is the most popular and most professionally developed MOBA to date. I do feel like this game may even take over Garena MOBA, it certainly has the potential. The issue is going to be with people already investing money into said game. I guess this is why Heroes Evolved is giving away quite a few heroes when you first start playing.
Heroes Evolved is probably the most fair MOBA game available so far
Garena Moba has a great ranking system where players climb the rankings by winning rank games to gain stars. Once all the stars for a level are filled, that players' rank then increases to the next tier. It's obviously easier to climb the ranks if you play regularly with the same team, which brings me to my next two points. The first is the ability to join a team/family and get benefits from playing with members of that team E.g. I am in the Yuteh team. There's even a daily check-in bonus, which is pretty cool. The second thing that I like with this game is the team talk feature. It is actually built directly into the game. Although people don't really use in solo queue, I would imagine it is a fantastic feature in a regular team.
Heroes Evolved has classic 5vs5 3 lane combat, but also advertises 7vs7 in the future!
I really enjoy the 5 vs 5 arena battle experience, especially ranked. However, the other modes like 3vs3 and 1vs1 are also appealing, especially when you get tilted, or really don't want to try push your rank. One thing that really surprised me was the advertisement of a 7 vs 7 arena mode. I am really not sure how that would work, but the idea of it sounds exciting. Seriously, the possibilities for team comps are overwhelming. I for one will be looking forward to the unveiling of this new mode, that's for sure. Oh, I also heard there is a weekend only mode, but I only started this game 2 days ago. However, it's the weekend tomorrow, so I will update this as appropriate.
Heroes Evolved has exceptional controls, allowing players to really get into the MOBA game
Like most of the premium MOBA games that are available, Heroes Evolved provides an exceptional game experience in terms of controls. The game is very responsive to your finger controls, which is very important. Although I have not played a lot, I can say that so far I have had no issues at all with the controls. I did have one experience where two plays had CC abilities, and basically shut me down for 4 seconds, which stopped me from using any ability. I found myself bashing the buttons to try do something, but I had no hope. I think this kind of experience may make players who are new to MOBA think their controls are not good, or stiff. One bit of advice that is pretty important, clean your screen before you play. It really helps have faster reactions, clearer viewing, not to mention stops germs from growing all over your screen/fingers *wink wink*
Heroes Evolved has a great equipment and rune/gem building system.
I think the way that Heroes Evolved has challenged the equipment and glyph building aspect of the game is very good. All the items seem very balanced, and most items buff more than 1 part of your heroes, not to mention the extra passive and active abilities that are available. They also make it easier to customize and save your own builds, for each hero that you own. The thing that really caught my attention is the glyph tree/circle. In the center is a main buff/ability, which unlocks at certain levels, and there are many different things available, this is like your major runes, but better. There are 3 different glyph, red blue and green. In each glyph you need to assign gems, which come in a variety of different forms, with different buffs. Each gem also has 3 levels for power, 1 being the lowest and 3 the highest. I guess with this game, the same rule applies, where you need to aim at getting rank 3 gems. The fastest way to do this is to focus on a specific type of hero. For example, if you like playing ADC then choose the gems that will benefit the ADC heroes in general. I personally will be going for SUP/AP first. Although, I did read that you should focus on a general gems the cover all heroes types at first. Basically, I think she meant that getting like increased life gems for red, run speed for green and increased mana for blue, would cover any hero type. I guess I can see the point, because if two people already covered AP and SUP, then the other two pick JG and ADC, that kinda leaves me playing a tank/AD hero, otherwise the team would be unbalanced and would decrease the chances of winning the match.
That's it for now, I will try to update this article more, once I had a bit more time to play. Until then, thank you for taking the time to read my article, I hope it can introduce people to Heroes Evolved, which is an exceptional mobile version of League of Legends and allow other people to enjoy it to. Heroes Evolved is free to play and is available on Android, IOS and also PC. Although the game is free to play, you can also purchase some limited heroes for in-game points (paid with real money), but the game offers a 5 hero free rotation and also provide game crystals and gold that can be earned through playing and then used to buy heroes. They also have skins that come in a variety of prices, although these skins are only cosmetic at the moment.
If anyone is playing the SEA (South East Asia) Taiwan server feel free to add me in the game. I normally play around 8-9 pm, if I'm not tired ;)
