2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport Colors, MSRP

As part of a refresh, the company will be adding the 2018 Toyota Tundra Trd Sport to the lineup. The new Tundra TRD Sport package is set to give active families a dose of sportier styling and performance, providing a lot of excitement and fun on the journey.

We recently spotted the car’s design elements and specs, and we’re going to expose them all right here. The inbound Tundra TRD Sport comes in CrewMax and Double Cab body configurations.

The Toyota adds a host of elements to distinguish the TRD Sport from other regular Tundra versions. These include new body color mirrors, LED taillights, hood scoop, mesh grille, bumpers and TRD Sport decals on the bedsides. The package stands on 20-inch silver alloy wheels comprising dark-painted inserts.

2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport – Exterior and Interior Styling

The incoming 2018 Toyota Tundra Trd Sport receives a two-level grille that is color-keyed to complement the body color. Side mirror cabs and bumpers have also been color matched to give the truck a monochromatic theme.

The exterior updates encompass updated headlights and a non-functional hood scoop. Several mechanical upgrades also make their way onto the upcoming Tundra TRD Sport package. It has the sport-tuned Bilstein shock absorbers that are mounted at each corner to provide an improved on-road feel. We also find TRD-branded anti-sway bars located at the front and rear fascia.

A couple of exterior color options are available, including Super White, Midnight Black Pearl, Magnetic Gray, Barcelona Red Metallic and Blazing Blue Pearl. The significant number of interior features complement the exterior styling, such as TRD Sport floor mats, TRD-branded door sill protectors and a TRD shift knob.

Interior Design

Inside the cabin of the 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport, we noticed that the new model is largely untouched. Base trims come with black cloth upholstery, while leather upholstery is reserved for top trims. Additionally, top ranging trim levels comprise an Entune Premium system which integrates the navigation. The rest of the elements are mostly carried over from the incumbent model.

The Toyota plots on adding a suite of active safety features as standard. This time, we’re going to have the Toyota Safety Sense-P (alias TSS-P) as standard. The suite is made up of automatic emergency braking, pre-collision warning, automatic high beams, lane-departure alert and dynamic radar cruise control. Also available is the Pre-Collision with Pedestrian Detection Function.

Engine Performance of the 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport

It appears the 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport will maintain the 5.7-liter V-8 i-Force engine. The unit knocks out up to 381 horses and 401 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic gearbox comes as standard, but there’s an optional electronically controlled two-speed transfer case.

The Four-Wheel Drive system also encompasses the A-TRAC system, which replaces a locking differential with the brakes. Furthermore, the Toyota’s A-TRAC function keeps wheel spin to a minimum when brakes are applied to wheels without traction. It forces torque to wheels with traction. Perhaps V-8’s greatest downfall is the fuel economy rating.

The Tundra Crew Cab with Rear-Wheel Drive records an estimated EPA rating of 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. Combined EPA stands at 15 miles per gallon.

Price, Launch Date and Rivals

The Toyota didn’t say anything regarding the 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport prices and release date. However, we believe its price will increase just slightly in comparison to the outgoing model. Therefore, expect the inbound 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport to carry a price tag ranging from $31,000 to $50,000.

The TRD Sport package comes to the dealerships alongside the rest of the renovated lineup in September. It competes with Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Nissan Titan and GMC Sierra.
