2018 Maserati Ghibli Facelift

When it comes to luxury cars, there are just a few models that can truly challenge the 2018 Maserati Ghibli. This car delivers plenty of performance, comfort, and luxury in one exceptionally good-looking package. While the previous Ghibli models were already ahead of their competition, the Italian manufacturer has decided to update and enhance the car even further. With powerful engine variants and that exotic Italian styling, the latest Ghibli will easily match anything coming from Lexus, BMW or Audi.

2018 Maserati Ghibli – Attractive Design

Despite being one of the most attractive sedans on the market, the Maserati has decided to update and change the Ghibli’s exterior in a number ways. The most notable changes will be concentrated on the grille and the headlights. The headlights will feature a sleeker design, with aluminum or chrome highlights that curve upward, instead of downward. Aside from the headlights, the grille seems redesigned as well. It features a more rounded shape, reminiscent of some older grilles. In addition to the main grille, the lower grille is also slightly redesigned, with smaller inlets at each corner. In the back, there are also some notable changes, as well. One of the most notable ones is a completely reworked rear bumper, which now appears sportier and more fluid. All in all, the Ghibli’s exterior is exceptionally well-sculpted and remains one of the most attractive in the segment.

Interior and Tech Options

When it comes to the interior of the 2018 Maserati Ghibli, one can hardly expect anything but lots of comfort and luxury. No wonder, since the Italian engineers have decided to update it just like they did the car’s exterior. While there are some notable improvements, there are still some subtle ergonomic oddities here and there. However, in general, the Ghibli’s cabin is the one definitely worth spending time in. It features a design that perfectly balances between elegance and athleticism, with materials such as quality leather, chrome, and aluminum.

The seats of the 2018 Maserati Ghibli provide lots of comforts, thanks to their thick padding and adjustability options. In terms of available space, the Ghibli will offer plenty of headroom and legroom in the front, but not so much foot room in the back. Tech-wise, the Maserati has decided to step up its game. The upcoming 2018 Maserati Ghibli will feature a brand new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, advanced navigation, and a plethora of safety measures.

Engine, Fuel Economy and Transmission

The 2018 Maserati Ghibli will come with two variations of a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. In the standard Ghibli model, we will see a variant with 345 hp at 5.500 rpm, and 369 lb-ft at 5.000 rpm. This engine variant will have an EPA rating of 17/24 mpg. The stronger variant will produce 404 hp at 5.500 rpm and 406 lb-ft at 5.000 rpm. Its EPA is rated at 16/24 mpg. Both engine models will come coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Release Date, Price and Competitors

The latest sedan 2018 Maserati Ghibli will hit the car stores by the end of 2017, with a starting price of around $73.000. The main competitors will be Audi A7, Porsche Panamera, BMW 5-Series.
