2018 Nissan Rogue Sport Specs, Price

The Japanese popular Company intends to unleash a compact crossover SUV model dubbed 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport, which aims at attracting young buyers with active lifestyles. The Rogue Sport is a redesigned version of the Nissan Qashqai compact crossover edition sold in Australia, Japan and Europe since 2006. Apparently, the next-gen version will see numerous twists and tweaks that puzzle the average U.S. car buyer.

2018 Nissan Rogue Sport – Body Style Changes and other Options

The 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport bears a strong resemblance to the Rogue, but it’s significantly smaller than its predecessor. It comes with useful tweaks—restyled bumpers, slightly reworked taillights and a modified rear spoiler. Unlike the family-friendly Rogue, the new edition aims the younger population. The revised Rogue Sport offers 22.9 cubic feet of cargo room behind its second row. Additionally, you will find around 61.1 cubic feet of space if you fold down the backseat. The revamped Rogue Sport will also receive Nissan’s innovative Divide-N-Hide cargo system.

Interior Design

The 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport resembles its European sibling in interior styling. The 2nd generation Qashqai received sharper and muscular styling for the 2015 edition and was unleashed in the United States with identical design elements. The crossover enthusiasts are already accustomed to the Qashqai, but all that matters is that the new Nissan Rogue Sport design is in line with the company’s North American range. For instance, it gets the same V-motion grille seen on almost any US-spec Nissan. The sporty bumper design and angular headlamps provide a unique look.

The entire design is sporty, and this is courtesy of the swoopy lateral skirt character line that rises toward the muscular rear haunches, the rear wheel arches, and the coupe-style roofline. Its rear fascia is simple and straightforward, but the trapezoidal license plate recess and the large taillights convey an impressive appearance you can expect from a bigger SUV. We are likely to find an imposing two-tone dashboard, center console trim, redesigned door panels and blacked-out A/C vents. Several upholstery colors are also available.

The heated front seats, NissanConnect with Navigation and premium interior accents are optional in the 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport. The new model will comprise the Online Search with Google, Voice command, SiriusXM Traffic and Valet Alert. The instrument cluster section consists of Advanced Driver-Assist display that allows you to see the navigation directions, change driving mode and manage phone calls.

Engine Output

All trims feature the identical 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit that produces 141 HP. The supposed engine gets linked to a continuously variable transmission known only as Xtronic. Apparently, this engine unit is a little smaller compared to the bigger Rogue’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit that executes 170 horsepower. In an almost confidential news item, the automaker did announce that the larger Rogue will equally receive a 2.0-liter gasoline-electric hybrid unit, a 30 KW electric engine and 176 horsepower net system.

Estimated Cost and Possible Arrival Date

The 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport will have a starting price of around $23,000. That’s probably an excellent price tag considering its good looks and a good brand name. The 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport will be available at the U.S. auto showrooms this spring.
