Nigeria of my dreams

I have an issue with the world today. It only took a few years but I’m wide awake and I’m seeing things clearer than I’ve ever had before. Everyone seems to live somewhat detached from the world like it doesn’t concern them. What kind of place are we Leaving for our kids. What mess are we leaving them to clean up. I can’t sit idly by when people suffer in the street with no food to eat and without proper clothes to wear but that’s why we are where we are today. With our dwindling resources and lack of proper education and security, Nigeria seems to have fallen from its former glory. With the bombings in the north and similar terrorist acts coming closer to home here in Lagos we seem to have forgotten that being human is vital to our survival. We seem to have forgotten some of the more basic ideals of our religious backgrounds. Do unto others as you want them to do unto you. But what kind of world do we live in when its every man for himself and no one cares to help the next man. We are faced with the broken economy and societal construct we find today. That’s what. I wish we were more aware as a people but that’s an ideal we won’t see for another couple decades. It will take some miraculous reevaluation of who we and who want to be as a unit. Our values as a people need to be reassessed. This is a call to arms. If we don’t do it for ourselves, who will? I’m saying wake up Nigeria.
