Coming to a Movie screen near you! Mariah Carey's hit song will soon become a film. The singer shared the exciting news of All I Want for Christmas is You on Instagram on Tuesday.
"I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of my favorite Christmas song to new generations of families with my upcoming new animated movie, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You," Carey shared. "You’re the first to hear about this exciting news! Don’t forget to follow @AllIWantMovie for more updates."
"All I Want for Christmas is You" debuted in 1994 and has become a classic ever since. "Mariah’s tried to outdo herself by re-recording it with a new intro, and then she tried it again with the [2011 duet] version with Justin Bieber," Walter Afanasieff, co-writer of the song, said in 2014.
"You can’t reinvent the wheel when you’ve got something that, by the world’s standards, is already perfect," Afanasieff explained. "I’m not saying that to pat myself on the back, but it’s what everyone says: ‘We don’t want a new version; we don’t want an updated version, we just want that!'"
