Designing Android Scrolling Application

First of all before designing an application will have to just consider what size of the application I mean by the screen resolution or for which mobile will you are going to design your application. In this case I have taking S3 screen resolution to design this application. The screen resolution of S3 is 720 x 1280 pixels.

Open your Adobe Illustrator, start new file, set the Desire resolution which is 720 x 1280 pixels in my case. One more thing I am designing 3 scroll pages and 1 home page. So for this I have to take 4 screens to be design. That’s why I am suggesting you to take for 4 artboards of the same resolution. Designing Android Scrolling Application

Now the new screen comes where you have for 4 artboards or 4 workplaces where you can design for screens. Designing Android Scrolling Application

• First of all you have to take rectangle off the screen size.
• Then you have to select the colour of the gradient which will apply on the rectangle.
• Then apply the gradient on the rectangle to change the colour of the background of the screen. You can easily view the screen colour after applying the gradient.

• Now I am going to making the outline border to make the front page more attractive. Create the rounded rectangle in the inset of 25 pixels, remove the colour and create the white stroke. After this the front page will be look like this.

• Now create a button by using the rectangle tool, exact in the centre but in the bottom and up from the insert line. Enter the dummy text in the button. Now your home page with will look like this. Designing Android Scrolling Application

• Now place the logo in the middle of the home screen to make it attractive for the viewer. Now we have finish the design of first screen.

After this the next target is to create the scrolling page after right home.

• Now you will not take any rectangle, and you don’t have to apply any gradient on that rectangle. We will take high quality images from Google, then crop them according to the S3 screen resolution. (we will do cropping with the help of Photoshop)
• Now place the cropped image on the artboard of Illustrator. And repeat the same procedure as we done during the designing of the first screen. I mean by the inset border, after this the application second page will be look like this.

• Now I will create two buttons, one to show the previous notification, the second one to show the next notification. The previous button will be placed on the left hand side and the next button will be placed on the right hand side, but the both button will be separated from the inside white line with difference of 25 pixels. After applying this the page will be look like this. Designing Android Scrolling Application

• Now there are two screens which are left to be designed, and you have to know that when you have to show in scrolling that there are some more images which user can view. Then we will use small circles to show pending images. That’s why I am using three circles each circle for individual screen, the active screen circle will always done from the other 1 which are inactive. Make this small circle aligned between the two buttons which we have created in the above. Now the interface will be look like this.

• This is the optional step, if you want to like some text in the screen then you can add on the top of the screen as I have written.

• Finally we have completed the screen to design, now you just have to copy screen to design on all to other artboards. Replace the feature image with the new one to create interface of screen 3 and screen 4. You can view those screen right below.

So this is how professional graphic designer will create the design of Android application, this is the very simple one but the procedure will remain same, I can also create very complex Graphics for the Android application but I don’t want to confuse my audience.
