The First James Bond Character

If you lack knowledge of who Commander James Bond 007 is, he is actually the creation of British novelist and journalist Ian Fleming back in 1952. Bond is a fictional character that already appeared in total of 26 movies from 1962 until 2015, according to the information shared online.

Fleming died in the year 1964, but his legacy as the original creator remains.

Now, if you were to ask me of who is the first James Bond Character, the correct answer is Barry Nelson and not actually Sean Connery. Remember that although Connery became popular with his own version of character, it was in year 1954 when American actor Nelson played the role of Bond for the first time.

According to the history of this popular fictional character, Ian Fleming received an amount of $1000 for the Casino Royale TV rights and this gave way to create the Climax! Mystery Theatre on October 21, 1954.

Aside from Barry Nelson (James Bond), the other popular artists during that time include Linda Christian (Valerie Mathis), Peter Lorre (Le Chiffre) and Michael Pate (Clarence Leiter).
