Michael Clarke Opens Up About Loss Of Friend Phillip Hughes: “Time Doesn’t Make It Any Easier”

Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes who passed away on November 27th of 2014 was a very close friend of former captain Michael Clarke. In an interview with Be, Clarke expressed his feelings and explained how much he misses his friend (Hughes).

“I think about him every day, to be honest. I have a lot of stuff around my house that reminds me of him daily, so it’ll be no different on his birthday and on the anniversary of his death.”

Clarke was attending a luncheon event at the Sydney Cricket Ground to celebrate the partnership of the brand Hublot with The Ashes. He was also there to promote their limited addition LVMH timepiece Maison watch.

“I’m at this event here at the SydPhillip Hugheney Cricket Ground, which is where he passed away. People say time heals, but unfortunately, at this stage for me, -nothing’s really healed. I miss him every day.”

Clarke also shared how he tried to cope up with the loss of Hughes. “I try to cling on to the happy times we had together. I try to on a daily basis think about the times we celebrated, we partied, we sat on the couch, we went for coffee or had breakfast.”

“I think that’s the stuff that I hang on to daily that keeps me smiling keeps me going forward and keeps me thinking about him in a really positive way.”
