One of the brilliant judges of Supreme Court and Chief Justice Of India (Retired), Altamas Kabir, 68, has passed away after prolonged illness.
He was not well for quite some time and took his last breath in Kolkata where he has been lawyer for long time.
Justice Altamas Kabir enrolled for lawyer at Kolkata Bar Association in 1973 and practised in District Court of Calcutta and later in High Court of Calcutta.
As a lawyer he was considered an authority both in civil and criminal cases. He was appointed Judge in Calcutta High Court in 1990.
