The unsung heroes of the Indian Ocean

The Unsung Heroes Of The Indian Ocean
Rarely in your life does opportunity knock twice at your door.As a child I was asked by my father if i wanted to go at sea I couldn't due to academic commitments.

Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to interact with the silent guardians of our seas (THE Indian COAST GUARD) and yes it has been a privilege beyond any understanding.
The very concept of being inside a ship is a dream for many among us .

Well for the young girl who used to run around looking for stamps of ships, who has the love for the ocean in her genes  ,its been a Fantastic day.
From the very moment of climbing on board till the good bye at the end(well until next time) it was mind blowing .

Till yesterday I used to be the kind of person who would say space is not enough even if it was and the things I had were not enough even if they were,I believed in the perfect scenario to work (ie where I would be very energetic ,have all the stuff I thought I needed ,without people bothering me)and then I came across these bravehearts ,these great men in blue who would pull through no matter how difficult the circumstances would be,no matter how rough the sea was (quite literally). Each officer was sincerely dedicated to his subordinate with fierce protectiveness without a seconds time wasted and the same discipline seen in their personal lives as well.

Each moment is critical and each fellow loyal to his team ,the love and camaraderie was palpable in the air with a few jokes here and there to lighten the otherwise ever moving rush to get duties done tick- tock tick-tock.
No excuses ever made for an ill day as each man knows the next fellow depends on him to finish his task, slacking almost unheard of .

We civilians know about various benefits these central government jobs entail, interms of groceries and health check ups by and large .Yet are we even mildly Aware what they do for this nation? Are we aware that such forces also exist ?Are we aware that the men behind these uniforms are ordinary men who have been trained to be extraordinary because they made a choice to do that?
Are we aware that we too can be extraordinary?

I believe we all out here have heard of the 3 tireless Forces of Indian defense guarding us in our hour of need and even at other times  but beyond that there are more people like the Indian Coast Guards ,CRPF ,other special forces who work day in an day out for our very safety who dedicate their today for our better tomorrow .
We do not see them everyday ,
They never asked to be seen,
but,
in our busy schedules we must indeed remember that those very people(Men and Women)
made a choice for our country.
making sure we feel safe ,
keeping  peace
and preventing as well as controlling infiltrations.
They help us feel safe, fewer in number but sure packs a punch .
They make the Indian oceans safer and a better place to be in .
