You Were Twenty-Three

Look in the mirror and what do you see?

No Longer the club kid, you were at twenty-three

Days are now filled with coffee shops and a pain in your knee

Maybe this is who you were Meant to be

Staring across from you is a boy who’s carefree

And he’s younger than you, not even twenty-three

He notices you are no longer drinking your tea

Maybe that is who he is meant to be

As you both sit there wondering what will this be

You look outside the window with a view of a tree

A brief thought hits you when you visited the sea

Maybe this time it was meant to be
