Now Bangalore is GIGA City as ACT launched 1Gbps plan

ACT Fibernet on Wednesday has launched wired Broadband internet services with speeds of 1Gbps in Bangalore after they launched it in Hyderabad in March Month. With this service, the company is targeting retail and start-up customers in the city.

ACT Giga plan offering 1Gbps speeds were available in Hyderabad until today, but starting today, ACT is offering the same plan in Bengaluru. The 1Gbps plan will be available for customers in Bangalore initially at Rs. 5,999 per month, with a FUP of 1 TB. The service will soon be expanded to all the other cities where ACT is present. ACT is the first ISP in India to “GIGA enable an entire city in India”.

The service was launched in the presence of Bio-Technology, Science & Technology and Tourism, Government of Karnataka Priyank M. Kharge

Bala Malladi, CEO, ACT Fibernet, said that India is one of the few countries to get broadband speeds of 1Gbps. Before 1Gbps speed, which is offered by ACT now, the average internet speed in India was only 2.5 Mbps. This would enable users to upload even huge files to the cloud in seconds and download ten HD movies simultaneously in less than 10 minutes. You can watch 30 4K movies in parallel at same time with this 1Gbps connection by ACT. This would be a boon for startups.

Enabling startups to have a cost-effective high-speed internet access will change the face of digital India. From 512Kbps and 30000 Broadband Subscribers to 1Gbps and 1.25 Millions subscribers, ACT Fibernet has grown and with them many Startups have grown using their super services.

ACT is confident this product will transform the way internet is now being consumed at large scale like in School, Govt Offices or even in Startups.

Customers who opt to pay advance for their broadband plan for a period of 6 months can avail one-month free subscription and for 12 months avail two- month’s free subscription. Further, if an existing customer is upgrading the current broadband plan to Giga plan installation cost is only Rs 2500, and for new customers, installation charges is Rs 5000.

Similarly, under SME (Small Medium Enterprise), ACT Fibernet has introduced a new plan ACT SME GIGA Plus at Rs 15,000, while ACT SME Exceptional Plus and ACT SME Phenomenal Plus will be upgraded to 1 Gbps speeds in the near future.

Here is the speed test that proves the 1Gbps speed is not a dream anymore.
