Here is the simplified plot in this "fantabulous" story:

The Wilson family has just arrived in a hotel in San Francisco when they find out there are no vacancies! They decide to call the elevator there room to stay in; It had wall-to-wall carpeting, a full-length mirror and soft music. It has its ups and downs, to Winslow's delight. After taking in some chairs, a table and some other furniture, they call it home. Throughout the 3 days, they meet a cohort of people, experience an earthquake and even solve a kidnapping caper!

I would recommend this book to anybody who wants a "fantabulous" Douglas Evans book to read!
