Testing the Wireless Controller SteelSeries Stratus for iPhone and iPad

Since the release of version 7 of iOS , many manufacturers of accessories are engaged in the design and marketing of game controllers . Those proposed in the form of support in which we have just built an iPhone or iPod offer combined with a good grip elegant solution. However, they are not compatible with the iPad.
Wireless Controller Steelseries Stratus is there to fill that niche and shows compatibility with iPhone and iPod 5th generation iPad and some that we list a little lower .
Owners of mobile devices that use it to play necessarily have noticed that sometimes the good quality games are a little spoiled by handling difficult because of the touch support. This is far from a majority, let's be honest , but even without that, a little more comfort in playability is always good to take .Since the advent of iOS 7 therefore , it is possible with even more choice of equipment . We will present one of these choices : Wireless Controller Steelseries Stratus .
The contents of the box is fairly complete : the course knob , cable micro- USB charging , a protective shell , carry case and all instructions. There is everything you could possibly need , except maybe an AC adapter for charging cable .
The start is very simple. Simply activate the bluetooth on your device and turn the handle through small switch for this purpose . Once the device has detected the controller , simply associate with each other. Finally , start the game you wish to play and , provided it supports a controller, there is generally nothing more to do.

The joystick is surprisingly small , but it does not compromise any of the grip. It has four gates , four buttons, a directional pad and two analog sticks. It is more a pause button , indicator lights for battery status and the status of the bluetooth association. These cookies also help to know which player the controller is affected, because it is possible to associate other for several games on the same device .

Autonomy announced is more than 10 hours of play , and although I did not count my time playing with the joystick , I must say that I have not yet managed to drain the battery .

Regarding the quality of this controller, I have absolutely no reservations , it is responsive, well designed and offered with a complete packaging. The price may seem high to some, but compared to the competition, it is more than adequate : € 69.95 from the Apple Online Store. You can find the link to it later in the article.

The list of compatible games with a controller grows day by day, finally let's say every month to be more reasonable. I personally tested the following games:
  • Angry Birds Go!
  • Dead Trigger 2
  • Mikey Shorts
  • Oceanhorn
  • Rayman Fiesta Run

The result and the grip seemed to me excellent every time. A small reserve for FPS games like Dead Trigger 2 . One of the analog sticks is used to aim and accuracy is questionable. That said, this is not due to the controller but the game and the way he treats the input signal .

To conclude, if you are one of those who use their iOS device to play, you could indulge in a game controller if you have more than one iPad, the Steel Series Stratus is currently the right choice to make .
