Now, BSNL Comes Up With Its Own Email Service

After the Gmails and Hotmails of the world, it is time for the state-run telecom company Bsnl to come up with an Email Service. BSNL is all set to bring a locally designed email service. BSNL has joined hands with Jaipur-based Data Infosys to develop BSNL Xgen personal and enterprise email service. It will reportedly be free for the broadband users across the country. Others will have to pay for it.

The service will be introduced on Saturday. BSNL aims to compete with other email service providers with this email service, said BSNL director N K Gupta

According to a PTI report, Ajay Data, CEO, Data Infosys, said that the new service designed by them covers a lot of features, that are not available with the other service providers. He said, “One of its most powerful features is Rights Management, which empowers the sender to control actions of deleting, forwarding, replying and printing of the e-mail by the recipient.”

With this services, users can schedule the SMS and emails in advance, which will be delivered at the desired time. The messages, scheduled to be delivered at a later moment will be stored on the servers. The service will allow the storage of files up to one GB to be attached/sent. Users will be able to transmit as many as 5,000 emails on a daily basis.

BSNL Xgen email service comes with the OTP (One Time Password) feature, which helps in additional protection of the account and also allows the user not to remember the password every time he logs. It is also given the Dual Authentication, that makes the service most secured for the user. BSNL has about 75 lakh customers across the country, who will be provided the service free, after its launch on Saturday.
