A Brooklyn prosecutor was caught calling a prostitution service from his office Phone when a colleague recognized his phone number during a routine investigation of phone records, The New York Post reports.
Mark Posner, 37, was then transferred from the rackets bureau to the early case-assessment bureau. He was not fired and there was no investigation into whether he broke any laws, the Post reports.
“As soon as we learned of this conduct by ADA Mark Posner, District Attorney Charles Hynes immediately suspended him for 10 days without pay, ordered him to seek counseling and transferred him to ECAB,” said DA spokesman Jerry Schmetterer.
Sources tell the Post that he was likely never fired because he is the son of the late Charles Posner, a former judge and top aide to Hynes.
Posner, who is married, was exposed when another assistant district attorney noticed his Office Phone number as she examined the prostitution service’s phone records in 2009.
