I can’t even laugh about this one. Facebook, after two months of petitions and protests, finally removed pro-Rape pages that have generated thousands of “likes” and provided a space where offensive jokes, and even confessions, were shared and approved of. Some highlights include:
"I was raping a woman the other day when she screamed, 'Please! Think of my children. Kinky bitch."
"Rape only became wrong when women took the right to say no for whatever reason she had. Most of us wouldn't be here or who we are if Man had listened to women up until that point in time. Rape wasn't rape until it was turned into rape and became wrong."Some highlights include:
"I was raping a woman the other day when she screamed, 'Please! Think of my children. Kinky bitch."
"Anyone keen to go thirds in a rape charge?"
I should mention that I have a friend who was kicked off of facebook for posting a picture that had a bare breast in it.
These pages, despite thousands of complaints, numerous petitions, (one with over 186 thousand signatures), and a variety of actions taken by different women’s rights groups world wide, were defended by facebook until recently. Please check out the following links for more info:
