Suggestion To Optimize IRCTC To Tackle Service Unavailable Problem

Suggestion to make IRCTC page more optimistic for USER and avoid Service Unavailable Problem


  • First of all IRCTC should have to change its Technology CGI/BIN , basically this technology run as process basis so IRCTC can only give LOGIN to limited user and if IRCTC switch to other technology with other fast processing language like PHP then IRCTC can give login to virtually unlimited user so it might tackle Service Unavailable problem.
  • OR if its not possible to IRCTC to switch its technology then it should make some change to make its website more optimistic LIKE:
  1. IRCTC should remove all other static page if its use AJAX to fetch availability, after fetching availability and on click of " Book " button " Book Ticket " page's all HTML code should load in place of Train list Ajax box to avoid loading " Book Ticket " page from server, and its even better to hide all HTML of " Book Ticket " page and show it on click of " Book " button. and place captcha on " Make Payment " page.  if all this is not possible then,
  2. IRCTC should remove " Select Payment Option " page and add Select box in " Make Payment " page to avoid 1 more page to Load, like Quickbook
  3. Captcha is one of major weakness of IRCTC site it rarely load between 8.00 AM to 8.30 AM. If IRCTC subscribed Third party captcha then it should develop its own captcha system if its not possible to then at least IRCTC subscribe one of best captcha solution provider like (captcha.net) inventor of captcha idea.
  4. IRCTC should make its bank or credit card respond page more optimistic to book ticket as soon as payment made, normally IRCTC bank respond page take 2 minutes to reply to user and INDIAN RAILWAY server so user get Waiting List.
  5. Block user on " Make Payment " Page instead of  " Book Ticket " page before 8.00 AM  and put captcha on " Make Payment " page instead of " Book Ticket " page. 
  6. Last but not least IRCTC remove its login system and introduce Customer Number, Password and Token Number system to avoid login and session, process page according to Customer Number and its Token Number and dump all the data burden to client side like Passenger Information only took it at last page ("Make Payment OR Select Payment Gatway " ) store it temporarily along with Customer Number and Token Number and pass necessary info to " payment gateway " page to quick transaction
