Disney is making some serious money moves lately (as if they need it), and in addition to maybe just outright buying Hulu, they’ve also teamed up with Colourpop to promote their Disney Designer collection.

No animation or movie studio has quite the history and legacy that Disney has. Not only is its founder an international celebrity, even decades after his death, but Disney has been a part of nearly everyone’s childhood, both young and old! I mean, Mickey Mouse turns 90 this year… That means even your grandparents were watching Disney ‘toons!

The Disney Designer Collection celebrates six famous Disney princesses from iconic stories like Cinderella, Snow White, The Frog Prince, and Aladdin with a limited edition doll. The dolls are pretty spendy at $109.95 each, and they’ll be released every Saturday from tomorrow, October 6, to November 10.

The coolest part of these Disney Designer Collection Princess dolls is that each princess is dressed in the popular clothing from the era of their film! So Snow White is wearing a beautiful formal gown that you might see in 1937, and Ariel is rocking some seriously gnarly tulle layers a la 1989.

The Disney side of the collection includes the dolls, obviously, but also an entire line of housewares, handbags, and jewelry. The Colourpop side of the collection includes several lip products, an eyeshadow palette, individual eyeshadow pots, and highlighters.

Currently, the collection is mostly sold out on Colourpop’s website, but fun fact: you can buy most of it on the Disney website for the same price and a 2% cash kickback from Ebates.

While the Colourpop shadow and lipstick formula is definitely something to write home about, the packaging on this collection is probably the reason that it’s so popular. The bullet lipsticks, easily the most popular item in the collection, each have one of the six princesses adorning the box.

The other products are no slouch in the packaging department, either! The Super Shock Shadow and Super Shock Cheek shades, for example, each have the iconic Disney castle on the lid, and come in a somewhat rare black component.

Speaking of, there are a total of six Super Shock Shadow eyeshadows in Colourpop’s famous, incredibly sparkling metallic glitter formula. Each one is named after a famous song from one of the six movies involved. Here is “Heigh-Ho” and “A Whole New World“:

There are a few different ways to get these shadows into your hot little hands. The most straightforward way is to buy them for $5 each. Even at full retail price, these shadows are a great deal. After all, Colourpop’s price point is why we all tried them out in the first place, right? But, you can get a 4-pack (so, missing two) for only $18 on the Disney website.

If you’re interested in something more elaborate, you can pick up the It’s A Princess Thing eyeshadow palette.

The palette is Colourpop’s standard 15 pan palette with a black exterior featuring the drawings of the princesses that you see at the top of this post. The inside, also black with stars, has each princess’ signature above the shadows.

Overall, I’d call this an overwhelmingly neutral palette that errs on the side of flattering lighter skin tones. After all, there are three nearly-identical peachy-pinks on the top, and no dark matte shadows, whatsoever. The shadows included are beautiful, classic, and wearable, but it lacks any kind of versatility or edge.

There are two highlighters in this collection, and both are stunning. If you’ve never used a Colourpop Super Shock Cheek product, you’re in for a treat. Colourpop makes some of the smoothest highlighters, and these two look gorgeous. Sadly, they’re only available on the Colourpop website, and they’re currently sold out, so we’ll have to wait for a restock to pick up these two $8 highlighters, “Part of Your World” and “Smile and A Song.”

Part of Your World is described as a “soft, silvery pink” and A Smile and A Song is a simple “light gold.” This formula is definitely buildable, so it starts off rather sheer which is preferable for some/, but it can be layered or applied damp to quickly become blinding.

Last but not least, the glosses. There are three Cinderella-themed glosses which are appropriately called Bibbidi, Bobbidi, and Boo. These are $6 each, or you can snag all three from Disney for $16.

These are Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip Glosses, so they’re free of glitter, and all about the shine. And don’t worry, Bibbidi (far left) isn’t a white lip gloss, it’s a clear gloss with gold sheen which is much, much prettier.

As I mentioned before, you can find most of this collection on both Colourpop and Disney’s website, but each have perks. But if you consider in-stock inventory to be a perk, I would definitely suggest you shop on the Disney website, especially because they have bundles of items that the Colourpop website doesn’t have. Bundles that can save you money when you buy multiples, so that’s a big deal! Also, that 2% cash back rebate from Ebates shouldn’t be underestimated. Colourpop doesn’t participate in cash back programs, so this is a clever way to sneak a discount in there!
