Here Are 14 Classical Piano Songs For You To Enjoy Because Why Not

Did you know that inventor of modern Piano initially named his creation un cimbalo di cipresso di piano e forte (“a keyboard of cypress with soft and loud”)? A bit cumbersome, don’t you think? Thank God eventually it was shortened and transformed into simple “Piano”, so we don’t have to go through much of a trouble when searching on YouTube our favorite classical piano songs. To make things even more simple, here we have a collection of probably the best or at least most famous pieces ever composed for this beautiful instrument. Take your time and enjoy.

Beethoven – Moonlight Sonata, this remarkable piece by Ludwig van Beethoven was completed in 1801. Its glory never fades. 

Debussy – Clair de Lune, The name Clair de Lune comes from a poem by Verlaine’s of the same name. Debussy worked on this masterpiece incredible fifteen years.

Chopin – March Funèbre, also known as The Funeral March, March Funèbre was composed in 1839 

Schumann – Arabeske, Schumann composed the Arabeske in 1839 to express sadness and longing for his beloved – Clara Wieck. It was forbidden love by her father. 

Beethoven – Für Elise, this beautiful piano piece by Ludwig van Beethoven was published in 1867 – 40 years after the composer’s death in 1827. It is his most popular and famous work.

Mozart – Rondo Alla Turca, popularly known as The Turkish March, is probably Mozart’s the most well-known piece.

Liszt – Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, Nowadays fame of this composition by Franz Liszt comes from several animated movies it was used for.

Rimsky-Korsakov – Flight of the Bumblebee, It was written as an orchestral interlude for Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, and it’s simply amazing.

Gershwin – Rhapsody in Blue, it was composed  in 1924, uses jazz and classical element in a way that was not heard before.

Beethoven – Sonata Pathétique, he was just 27 years old when he wrote this famous piece in 1798. 

Chopin – Minute Waltz, his muse was Countess Delfina Potockawho inspired composing of this piece in 1874.

Schumann – Kinderszenen, Schumann memories of childhood were portrayed by this piece dating from 1838.
