An interesting mythological connection is associated with the construction of the temple and the establishment of the Goddess. It is believed that during the historic battle of Mahabharata between the Kauravas and the Pandavas was being fought, in the meantime, Mahabali Bhim went to the Hinglaj hill in Pakistan to bring Kuldevi for their victory. The Goddess agreed to walk with Bhim but She had put a condition that if Bhima would take Goddess on his shoulder to the battlefield, Only then She would go with him. In the meantime, if Bhima lowered the Goddess from his shoulder, then She would sit there forever. Bhima was proud of his power, he accepted this proposal of Goddess.

There is no doubt that Bhima is known for his strength, but he had to bow in front of natural things. It is believed that Bhima was going ahead with Goddess sitting on his shoulder, then suddenly he realized that he had to go washroom. They dropped the goddess under a tree and went to the washroom. But as soon as he came back to try to lift the goddess, the goddess reminded Bhim his condition, and he sat on the same place. Now the power of Bhima was useless. Due to the washroom, he forgot the promise he gave.
