Though many people may not be aware that Speech and Language Therapy Jobs exist, they are nevertheless a very important profession not just within the UK but also throughout the world. Speech and language therapy jobs are primarily concerned with the assessment and treatment of problems relating to language, speech and communication. The national health service has reported that almost as many as 2.5 million people throughout the UK have some form of complication relating to language or speech. Another 5 percent of school aged children have communication problems.

Speech and language therapists are involved in working with both adults and children in helping them solve their problem. They work as part of a team of clinicians in managing and treating speech, language and communication difficulties. They also work with adults and children who have difficulty in swallowing, who are physically disabled, have learning difficulties or face communication problems. These problems – as well as being genetically inherited – often arise as the result of stroke, illness or an accident.
