Corvette C7 Stingray, Grand Sport and Z06 set another record- in overproducing

Gotta give the latest Generation of +General Motors Chevrolet Corvette the much deserved credit for setting all sort of records.  Unfortunately, these records are not of the variety that gives the geriatric owners so called bragging rights, something they dutifully put down on posters attached to their Cars And Coffee entrees and spend hours digesting on the internet.

No, these records are of the shameful variety, such as the worst quality of assembly and paint, slower than predecessor top speed, Nurburgring mirage and on and on and on.

However, as the end of 2016 approaches, it is time to credit the latest generation of Corvette with another record: an astonishing 170-day supply of unsold Corvettes on the dealers lots, even when accompanied with some of the most aggressive buyer incentives in the recent Corvette history.

170 days worth supply of Corvettes is truly astonishing, considering that the entire year has only 365 days, last time this blog checked.  So what now?  This blog pointed out long time ago that courtesy of flawed corporate strategy, the C7 generation was being consistently overproduced.

In the end, overproducing will not matter to GM, it will matter however, to the dealers and the buyers and most of all, sellers of C7 cars.  Time to butter up the lower cheeks and prepare for even more serious reaming?  Most definitely and Preparation H would be strongly recommended as well.
