Marvel Studios absolutely tore down Hall H with their panel at Comic-Con on Saturday. Black Widow lands next spring with Taskmaster as the villain. Thor: Love and Thunder will bring Natalie Portman back into the fold to play a female Thor. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is official and will introduce the ‘real’ Mandarin, instead of the fake version we got in Iron Man 3. And that’s even mentioning the new Doctor Strange movie.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange will return on May 7th, 2021 with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Master of the Mystic Arts won’t be returning alone though as Elizbeth Olsen’s Scarlett Witch will join in on the adventure. There’s not a ton of info otherwise. However, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson will be returning to helm the sequel. Derrickson revealed on stage at Comic-Con that with the sequel, “[they’re] going to make the first scary MCU movie.”

There was no sign of Chiwetel Ejiofor, who played Strange’s partner-turned-nemesis Mordo in the first film. So, it seems like the storyline teased in that Doctor Strange post-credits scene involving Mordo taking care of the world’s “too many sorcerers” has been put on the backburner. Or, who knows? Maybe Mordo’s newfound quest kicks off our heroes’ journey through the Multiverse.
