The delayed comic caper from YashRaj Studios, Bank Chor, is finally getting released this year. The movie has Riteish Deshmukh playing the leader of the three-member gang, who is out to rob a bank. The only issue is, all three are dimwits and can’t carry out the task competently. Loosely inspired by Al Pacino-starrer Dog Day Afternoon, Bank Chor also has Vivek Oberoi playing a cop to catch the robbers, while Rhea Chakraborty plays a journalist in the movie. Bank Chor is directed by Bumpy, who earlier made Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Luv Ka The End for the same studio.

The makers have released the title track of the movie, glimpses of which you have seen in the trailer of Bank Chor. You know the one, where they make the title of the movie sound like a very colourful abuse. The song is composed and crooned by Kailash Kher, and it is a fun number, though it doesn’t exactly make a great impression per se, except for that ‘Bank Chor’ portion. The only thing worth mentioning are the inane lyrics penned by Kailash Kher with the rap portions written by Ambili.
This is what Riteish Deshmukh has to say about the song, “Just like the rest of the film, Hum Hain Bank Chor is also hilarious because in the song, the three idiot chors believe that they’re actually smarter than everybody else. So for a change, it was fun for me to make everyone dance to my tune, because in the rest of the film meri tashreef lagi hui hai!”
Kailash Kher, who has gone a different route with this song, says, “After creating history with iconic songs like Teri Deewani, Saiyaan, Allah Ke Banday, I’m all set to destroy that with Banday Hai Hum BankChor… all on Y-Films’ doing. Jokes apart, this was really special as it showcases a mad, naughty and fun side of me that not many people have been exposed to. So after soulful sufi comes stupid masti. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it!”
Bank Chor is scheduled to release on June 16.
