19-fingured piano robot plays faster than a human

A Robot with 19 fingers, named Teotronica, has the ability to play piano faster than any other human being. It is the only robot in the world that can play the piano, accompany itself on the drum, and sing all at the same time.

Invented by Italian Matteo Suzzi, the robot has video-camera eyes in which the robot uses to sense surroundings and interact with audience. Teotronica costs around $4,700 and took four years to build. The robot, which can even distinguish between the speed of key change, can play any tune you like, exclaimed its inventor.

“I’ve always had a passion for robots and robotics. I was really excited when I discovered you could create an independent robot that could play any tune or composition,” says the inventor in Daily Mail.

According to Suzzi, Teotronica has 19 fingers because it is the perfect number to cover any melody. “Having 19 fingers gives the robot a better execution speed, making him faster than a human.” Its left hand covers the lower notes and his right hand covers the melodic line. It also has an extra finger on the left hand.

Teotronica has already performed at a number of private parties and is a hit with the guests, says Suzzi. "We’re hoping he can revolutionise the music industry.”
