This is my first attempt at Tapestry crochet and I must say I absolutely love the result. I worked really hard on this pattern, testing and retesting it until my brain exploded. Making the chart was also a tedious but fun experience. Since it is my first attempt, I am a little nervous. So feel free to email me if you find any errors.

Crochet Pattern
Materials1. Worsted weight yarn. Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in colors Colonial Blue and White was used for the sample.
2. Hook G (4.25mm)
Size
One size to fit all women - 9 inches when measured right above the point where thumb starts.
Gauge
Working in single crochet, 17 sts X 16 Rows= 4 inches

The pattern is written in standard American terms.
ch- chain
sc-single crochet
sl st- slip st
Stitch Explanation
sc2tog ( single crochet decrease): This will join 2 sts into one. To work a sc2tog, [insert your hook into the next st and pull up a loop]2 times, yarn over and pull through all the loops on your hook.
Ribbed Cuff
With G hook, chain 12.Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across. Turn.----------11 sc
Row 2: Working in back loops only, ch 1 ( not counted as a st), 1 sc in back loop of the same st as ch 1, 1 sc in back loop of next 10 stitches. Turn.----------------- 11 sc
Join the first and last rows with sl sts
Repeat Row 2, 26 more times. Now slip stitch the two shorter ends together inserting your hook through the front loops of the stitches on your last row and the free loops on the very first row to form a tube as shown in the picture above, do not fasten off. I had 15 ridges on the band including the ridge formed by slip stitching the ends together. Palm
Notes2. I kept on dropping my marker, so if you face the same, I would suggest you use locking stitch markers or a big safety pin. Even if you lose track a little I make you readjust your marker before starting the thumb hole to ensure that your snowflake is positioned right.
Work a round of sc across row ends
Round 1: Ch 1( does not count as a st), proceed to work a round of 32 sc around the band, do not sl st at the end of the round and do not turn. See the picture above. --------- 32 sc
Round 2: 1 sc in next st, place a marker in this st to indicate the first st of the round, 1 sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 15 sts, 2 sc in the st right before the marked one, do not turn.------34 sc
Round 3:1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in next 15 sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 16 sts, 2 sc in the st right before the marked one, do not turn. ------36 sc
Round 4:1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one, do not turn.------36 sc
Round 5:1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in next 16 sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 17sts, 2 sc in the st right before the marked one, do not turn. -------38 sc
Round 6: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in next 17 sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next 18 sts, 2 sc in the st right before the marked one, do not turn.-------40 sc

Tips for Changing Colors
1. To join the new color when working a sc, start your sc as usual and pull through the new color yarn when you have 2 loops left on your hook. See a video here: Changing Colors
2. Every time you switch colors bring your working skein on top to avoid tangling36.
3. All the stitches are single crochet and the colors of the stitches are depicted using the letters B(Blue) and W(White).
4. Throughout the round, you should crochet over the color that you are not using.
5. After every few stitches keep checking to see if the white is showing through and gently pull the white yarn to make it disappear.
6. You do not turn at the end of the rounds.
7. If the chart below looks a little asymmetrical to you, it was intentional. Since crochet stitches are not stacked right on top of each other, I tried to adjust that.

Round 11 (color change starts): 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 17 B, 1 W, 5B, 1 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one-------44 sc
Round 12: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in each st until you end in the st right before the white st, 2 W, 3B, 2 W, 1 B in next 2 sts, 2 B in next (increase), 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.-------------46 sts
Round 13: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in each st until you end in the st right before the white st, 3W, 2B, 3W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.-------------46 sts
Round 14: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in each st until 3 sts are left before the white st, 3W, 1B, 2W, 2 B, 2W, 1 B, 3 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.-------------46 sts
Round 15: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in each st until you work a blue st on top of the first white st, 3 W, 1B, 1W, 2B, 1 W, 1 B, 3 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.-------------46 sts
Note: Weave in any tails left now as it gets difficult once the mitten is taller.
Skip 13 sts for thumb hole and work sc in next st
Round 16 (Only for Left Mitten): Count back from the first white st of the row and make sure the marker is on the 17th st. If not, you can move it to the 17th st. That is, you should have 16 sts between the marked st and the first white st.
Now your working yarn is right before the marker, skip next 13 sts including the marked st and work 1 sc into the 14th st, do not make this sc loose, move marker to this st, continue crocheting over white color, 1 B in next 4 sts until your work a B on top of 1st white st, 3 W, 4 B, 3 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.-----------–33 sts after skipping 13 sts for thumb hole
Round 16( Only for Right Mitten): First count back from the first white st of the row and make sure you have 16 sts between the marker and the first white st. 1 B in marked st, move the marker up, 1 B in each st until you work a blue st on top of the 1st white st, 3 W, 4 B, 3 W, 4 B, skip 13 sts and sc into the 14th which will be the st right before the marked st. Move the marker into this st you just made.
Continue for Both Left and Right Mitten
Round 17( only 1 white st):1 B in each st until you have worked into 3 W sts and 2 B sts of the snowflake, 1 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.---------33 sts
Round 18: 1 B in each st until 4 sts left before the single white st, 3 W, 3 B, 3 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.---------33 sts
Round 19: 1 B in each st until 1 st left before the white st, 3 W, 1B, 1W, 1B, 1 W, 1B, 3 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.---------33 sts
Round 20: 1 B in each st until 1 st left before the white st, 3 W, 1 B, 2 W, 1 B, 2 W, 1 B, 3 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one,---------33 sts
Round 21: 1 B in each st until you have worked into 3 white sts, 3 W, 1 B, 3 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.---------33 sts
Round 22: 1 B in each st until you end in the st right before the white st, 2 W, 3 B, 2 W, 1 B in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.---------33 sts
Round 23: 1 B in each st until you end in the st right before the white st, 1 W on top of first W, 5 B, 1 W, drop white yarn and cut it off leaving a 3-inch tail. Make a knot inside your mitten with the white tail, do not trim the rest but work blue sts over the white tail until you end in the st right before the marked one.---------33 sts
Your snowflake is now complete and you only have to work with blue yarn for the rest of the pattern.
Round 24: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.----33 sc
Repeat the above round until your work measures 2 1/2 inches from the thumb hole.
Next Round: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog, *(1sc in next 9sts, sc2tog), repeat from * 1 more time to end.------30 sc
Next Round: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog, *(1sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog), repeat from * 1 more time to end.------27 sc
Next Round: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in each st across until you end in the st right before the marked one.------27 sc
Next Round: 1 sc in marked st, move the marker up, 1 sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog, *(1sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog), repeat from * 1 more time to end.------24 sc

Using a yarn needle, thread the tail in and out through the front loops of the last 8 sts, pull to close the hole, make a small knot and weave in the tails.
Thumb
Note: 1 sc is worked into the junction of the thumb hole and palm of the mittens even if there is no st there. This is to ensure that no hole is left at the joint.
Work 1 sc into the junction of thumb and palm even if there is no st
Sl st a few sts before the junction of the thumb hole and the palm of the mitten, 1 sc in same st, working over the beginning tail, 1 sc in each st until you reach the junction, work 1 sc onto the side of the palm as shown in the picture above, 1 sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc in each st around, do not sl st at end of the round.
Keep working sc in a spiral until your thumb measures 2 inches from the base.
Next Round: *(1sc in next, sc2tog), repeat from * a total of 4 times.
Next Round: 1 sc in next 9 sts, sc2tog, 1 sc in next, sc2tog, 1 sc in next, fasten off with an 8-inch tail.
Using a yarn needle, thread the tail in and out through the front loops of the last 8 sts, pull to close the hole, make a small knot and weave in the tails.
