Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Kangana Ranaut’s highly anticipated and looked forward to film, released its first Song, Vijayi Bhava. The recently released trailer already upped the excitement ante and Vijayi Bhava captures the essence of Rani Lakshmibai’s warrior spirit and brings to life the strength the courageous queen showed during adversity. The song is a dedication to the India’s first warrior queen.

Written by Prasoon Joshi, the music for this beautifully patriotic song is composed by the trio of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy and sung by Shankar Mahadevan. With Lakshmibai swinging the sword around and sparing no one, the song gives people an insight into not just Kangana’s character but also into the character of Jhalkaribai, played by Ankita Lokhande, and Danny Denzongpa’s character Ghulam Ghaus Khan as well. Co directed by Kangana Ranaut and Krish, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is going to bring to life the epic story and struggles of Rani Lakshmibai in preventing the invasion of her kingdom by the East India Company. Apart from the queen’s skills, the song also talked about how the Rani Lakshmibai trained her entire army for the most important battle of their lives. Talking about the song, music composer Shankar Mahadevan said, “In any musician’s career, a film like Manikarnika becomes a landmark dream project, which is challenging and musically enriching at the same time. I think we have been lucky enough to be offered projects like these and even after 50 years we can look back and say that we were proud ones to create music for this historic epic. The songs have got musical depth, lot of melody and emotion of patriotism. It is indeed a proud moment for Shankar Ehsaan and Loy”. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is scheduled to hit the screens on the 25th of January this year!
