However you feel about the intricacies of Avengers:
Infinity War, there's no way you can argue with the fact that Marvel will struggle to surpass the ensemble. It is a stunning achievement in spectacle and emotional devastation, which balances personal dynamic with some of the biggest action sequences since the Lord Of The Rings. And unthinkably, in just a year, we're going to have to endure it all over again with Avengers 4.
One of the biggest questions heading into the film's release was how the film-makers could ever hope to balance so many existing characters while also introiducing brand new ones. Stunningly, they've managed it for the most part and while some characters are less well-served, some actually end up being the best they've ever been in the MCU.
So who's the greatest character in the Russos' epic ensemble?
40. Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Kraglin, Valkyrie, Korg & Miek

It's somewhat inevitable, but not EVERY character who has appeared in the MCU so far and remains alive can appear in Infinity War, despite the claims of the film-makers. But that doesn't mean that they don't still feel like they've been somewhat erroneously overlooked.
Hawkeye and Ant-Man are dismissed as having "taken a deal" after the events of Civil War, so they're effectively benched, but other characters who SHOULD have been involved here are just left out entirely. Despite being given a spot in the Guardians in Vol 2, Kraglin is entirely missing.
And Valkyrie, Korg and Miek are all left out of the opening sequence on the Asgardian refugee ship. Presumably, they escaped, but it would have been nice to know it for certain.
39. General Ross

Civil War might be in the past, but the Sokovian Accords and the aftermath of superhero registration are still very much being felt in the MCU as General Thaddeus Ross is still invested in making superheroes accountable for their actions.
He turns up briefly at the start of Infinity War to remind everyone of the fact, as well as loudly complaining at War Machine about Vision going missing. He gets served though, as Cap, Black Widow and Scarlet Witch all return to Avengers HQ and his instruction to arrest them goes ignored. And that's the end of his time in the film.
