Raazi Trailer Review: Alia Bhatt Shines As An Ordinary Girl In Extraordinary Circumstances

The wait is over. Alia Bhatt is back with a bang!

Dharma Productions dropped Raazi Trailer just a while ago and you can’t get a better start to Tuesday. The movie stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal and is set to release on May 11.

Raazi is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel “Calling Sehmat,” which in turn is based on the true story of an Indian spy married to a Pakistani man just before the Indo-Pakistan war in 1971. Obviously, Alia is the spy here and it is safe to say that she has managed to blow our mind once again with her spot-on performance.

Raazi trailer begins with the diplomatic banter of preparation of an impending war. Elsewhere, Rajit Kapur is convincing his daughter Sehmat to be ready to get married in Pakistan so that she can be India’s “aankh aur kaan.”

Vicky Kaushal is playing Sehmat’s husband who is employed by Pakistan army and is obviously unaware of his newlywed wife’s secret mission. The relation between India and Pakistan worsens and so does Sehmat’s life as she gets caught between her job as a wife and as a spy.

So, Sehmat goes to Pakistan and begins her dual duties. Taught and trained as a field agent, she starts gathering crucial information and sending them back to India. Or does she?

Raazi seems to be all about Alia Bhatt. The way the barely 25-year-old actress has carried on the layered role of a married spy is undoubtedly commendable and praiseworthy.

Vicky Kaushal seems promising. The presence of Rajit, Soni Razdan, Arif Zakaria, Shishir Sharma and Jaideep Ahlawat takes the excitement level a notch above.

Raazi is presented by Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions while its screenplay is done by Bhavani Iyer of “Black” fame. The movie is produced by Vineet Jain, Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta.

The icing on this delicious cake is that the movie is directed by Meghna Gulzar. Do we need to say anything more?

Well, the recently-launched trailer is intriguing, exciting and impressive. Watch Raazi trailer right here:
