In India, preparing for an exam is as good as preparing for war! It’s not just the youth who are preparing for the exam or should we say the war? Parents too are equally stressed as their children during the Board Exams or any school exam for that matter. No wonder then our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rightfully titled his Book Exam Warriors. All the young warriors are currently busy preparing for the battle called Exams and Mister Prime Minister’s book is written with the motive to help these warriors fight this war with ease.

So what is the book all about?

Exam Warriors is 208 pages thick and is published by Penguin Random House India. The book is mainly for students who will be appearing for their board exams. PM Modi gives tips on how to deal with all the exam stress by keeping calm. The information is informal and has been written in simple language keeping in mind the age of the readers.

The PM also speaks about prioritizing knowledge over marks and how to grapple with becoming responsible citizens for the future. Though most of the advice is something that all the youth might have heard before, either from parents and teachers, the advice coming from the PM of the country will carry more weight!

In the book, the PM writes; “This book is for all students who are appearing for examinations. They are the ‘Exam Warriors’ — brave youngsters taking part in the festival of exams. The book drives home the important point that when it comes to examinations, there is no need to worry excessively or view it as a life-and-death situation.”

The layout of the book is attractive with diagrams, pictures, and activities. What’s also interesting is that there are a couple of pages which are dedicated to the practice of yoga to help ease the stress and tension of exams!

The English and Hindi versions of the book have been released and it will soon be translated into multiple languages so that students all across India will be able to read and understand it. While it is a great initiative by the PM, it would be great if he could make changes in our education system too! That is something that would make life easier for the youth and also make learning a whole lot of fun!
