Born Kwame Ametepee Tsikata better known by his stage name M.anifest , is a Ghanaian rapper, singer and songwriter. M.anifest is one of the top Ghanaian musician, an internationally acclaimed Award-winning musician from Accra, Ghana.

He has won several awards and earned lots of nominations to his name , he won the “Best Rapper of the Year” award at the Ghana Music Awards in year 2013 a year after being tipped by BBC’s “The Strand” as one of four artists to watch in the World. He also won ‘Hip-Hop song of the year at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards’.

He is labelled amongst best and industrious Ghanaian rappers. He has worked with some of the finest musicians in Ghana Music industry including the likes of Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Erykah Badu, and is featured on five songs on the Rocket Juice and The Moon album.

M.anifest is the grandson of one of Africa’s foremost ethnomusicogists and composers J.H. Kwabena Nketia. He has been well acknowledge by some reputable bodies including BBC’s arts program. M.anifest’s single “someway bi” earned him a third place honor in the International Songwriters Competition (ISC) in 2015. Early Life, Background, Personal Life and Education

Kwame Ametepee Tsikata aka M.anifest who is also known as M Dot, M Diggidy, god MC was born 20 November 1982 in Accra, Ghana therefore his current age is age 35. According to revelations after our digging, we discovered that M.anifest is the son of Ghanaian lawyer and academic Tsatsu Tsikata. He travelled down to Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St Paul, USA) in 2001 to attend Macalester College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in year 2015.

He attended his high school education at SOS Herman Gmeiner International School in Tema. He was the most popular entertainer of his school known as Amet Tsikata. He has had artist residencies and given lectures in St Lawrence University (NY), University of Ghana, and spoken to several classes in Hamline University, Macalester College (his Alma Mater), Penumbra Theatre’s Summer Arts institute, Ashesi University and more.

Music Career

M.anifest started doing thing all by himself while he was in Twin Cities because there was nobody to help him out. He was able to tolerate several things and adopt the do-it-yourself credo and the know-how in becoming an independent musician. He embarked on the quest to release his first studio album and finally completed it and released it Manifestations, in 2007 funded by royalties he received from lending his voice to a Pepsi jingle that played nationally on U.S radio.

The Manifestations album earned him Songwriter of the year Honors in the City Pages and top five albums of the year recognition in the Star Tribune. In year 2009 he released a free album, the Birds and the Beats, to raise awareness and funds for the work of a non-profit, Young Entrepreneurs Africa.

The following year, the gifted and talented singer got an opportunity to connect with Africa Express and played gigs in France and Spain with them in the same year. He caught the attention of Africa Express co-founder Damon Albarn who thereafter invited M.anifest to be a collaborator on Rocket Juice & the Moon in 2011. Two years later, September 2012 to be precise , he joined the Africa Express train touring the UK. He wrote for The Huffington Post about these experiences.

In September 2011, he released his sophomore album Immigrant Chronicles: Coming to America which included the singles “Suffer”, “Asa” and “Blue (Chale What Dey Happen)”. It marked a decade of his life in the U.S. and the beginning of his transition back to Ghana. In 2012 M.anifest began making major inroads in Africa performing on The Big Brother Africa stage as well at the Channel O Music Video Awards in South Africa. The video for his single “Makaa Maka” also got him nominated for Most Gifted Hip-Hop Video at the 2012 Channel O Music Awards and won him Best Hip-Hop Video at the 4syte Music Video Awards.

He has been respected for notably producing and co-wrote an independence mini Hip-Hopera for Channel O and also performed a piece, at the first ever Ghana Music Week, detailing the history of Ghanaian music. He is also the co-founder of Giant Steps, an interactive conference for entrepreneurial creatives and creative entrepreneurs. He was also featured in the feature-length documentary We Rock Long Distance by filmmaker Justin Schell.

Fast forward to 30 June 2016, he spawned a diss track to fellow rapper Sarkodie titled “god MC” attacking Sarkodie with hit backs . On hearing this diss, Sarkodie who is know for hard rap replied him within two days by dissing M.anifest on the track “Kanta” (Panda cover). The diss track that was released to diss with no intention to won any awards went on to win Hip Hop Song of the year in the Ghana Music Award the following year.
