Uche Secondus, the former National People's Democratic Party (PDP), was elected chairman of the national party.
Secondus received 2.000 of the 2.396 votes at the National Party convention that ended Sunday morning at Orao Square in Abuja.
Former Governor of Benue State and chairman of the Electoral Sub-Committee of the Convention, Gabriel Suswam, announced results and said the presidential elections challenged four candidates. He said:
