Nigeria Remembers its Greatest Ever Refree AMOS AIGBE

Today marks 10years since Nigeria FIFA internationally Graded Referee Amos Osareniye AIGBE Passed on at the age of 45

A Two time best Referee in Nigeria, 10 times best referee in Edo state and the only Nigeria Referee to officiate a match between Brazil and Nigeria in 2003(although he served as a 4th official as a result of the fact Nigeria played).

Known as the "African Pellugi corlina" or the "Referee With an Eagle Eyes" Mr Amos officiated several Caf champions league games and Caf nations cup qualifiers and was Rewarded with Best Referee in Nigeria in 1998/1999 season and also the 2001/2002 season.

After clocking 45 he became a match commissioner and the Chairman of Edo state Referee Association, he died while in office on 6th February  2007,on the arms of his Beloved wife Amina Aigbe.

He is greatly Missed by the Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) and the Nigerian Football Federation...
