At last, some stabilising Earth energy!
The Dog is by nature aligned to the Earth element and this year he is accompanied by the Heaven energy of Yang Earth, so this means that the Earth energy is very strong and should be much more harmonious than 2017 and 2016.
You see 2017 & 2016 had ‘clashing’ elements of Fire and Metal (Fire Rooster and Fire Monkey – both Rooster & Monkey are naturally metal element) so both years saw a lot of ups and downs, well at least more than life generally deals out…Characteristics of clashing elements in the year are that of fast progress then setbacks, or reversals in direction, or shock disruptions (Brexit, US election and sabre rattling and war threats all over the world).
The Earth Dog in its positive aspect will encourage the following:
Team work that is transparent and truly caring while also being effective and efficient.
A sense of really feeling much more grounded and having an increased organisation & mental clarity necessary to manifest projects you have been working towards. Earth relates to the physical flesh and muscle of the body and also to our thinking. When Earth energy is weak, we over think and worry. When earth energy is strong we are confident and trusting in ourselves and life.
The Earth dog though also has a lot of water element in the pillars of the astrology chart and in the energy Kua of the year, so that should help business to keep flowing, but there will definitely be a tighter control on currency (water) as Earth controls water element. Some countries could potentially even go into negative interest rates. The success of bitcoin towards the end of 2017 will likely create some kickback within the more traditional banking organisations who could well seek to control it or undermine it some way this year.
And beware the Dog has a fire ‘tomb’ (the image here is of fire under the earth), so we might well see some major earthquakes or volcanic eruptions this year, particularly in the West or North, so could this be the year that Los Angeles has a big quake along the San Andreas Fault?
Nothing in nature or life is 100% positive or perfect, and all energy has its opposite side. The energy of the Dog in its least flattering aspect is overly traditional and cliquey. It is generally a pack animal that dislikes leading and sticks to what is safe and secure and is not an adventurer at all. This can create ultra conservatism.
This year is a 9 Fire year, which places the Black 2 sickness star in the West of the Flying Star this year. This means that financial markets will be affected quite dramatically especially in the Western world and countries in the West like America. The 5 Yellow troublemaker star is in the North which will affect the female energy.

For those of you born from in the months of January to November you take the year of your birth from the lists below, however, if you are born around the Winter Solstice i.e.. between 20 Dec to 31 Dec then you will belong to the following year for example, someone born on 26th December 2009 might think they are an Ox but in fact the energy of the year has renewed at Winter Solstice and now become the Tiger i.e.. 2010. You do not work out from the Spring Festival dates in February as this is inaccurate.

The Tiger could find themselves feeling a little scattered in their focus this year. Good allies for them this year are those born in the year of the Horse.
