There will be a free Screening of the award-winning documentary 

BURNED – Are Trees the New Coal  

7 pm for prompt 7.30 start, Thu 28 March 2019 at Cottingham Civic Hall, (Oak Room), Market Green, Cottingham HU16 5QG. Duncan Law of Biofuelwatch will be convening discussion afterwards. Drax Power Station imports wood from the USA through Hull Docks and it is subsidised as a ‘renewable’ fuel. But is it? More info and trailer at https://burnedthemovie.com/

Biofuelwatch has a petition about Drax’s plans to replace its current coal-burning capacity with the UK’s largest gas fired power station.

The plan is to hand in the petition in at the beginning of April. It’s on 95,000 signatures at the moment and the target is 100,000.
